What is The Last Fairytale?

The Last Fairytale is a horror action RPG from Beer Tech Studios. Players take monster-hunting contracts from the people of their town, identify the creature through physical and alchemical evidence before committing to a fight, and carry what they recover back into a settlement they rebuild one building at a time.

Who is developing The Last Fairytale?

The Last Fairytale is developed by Beer Tech Studios LLC, an independent game and software development studio based in Castle Rock, Colorado, United States. It is the studio's first commercial game title.

What platforms will The Last Fairytale be on?

The Last Fairytale is being developed for PC, with console platforms planned. No storefront or console release has been announced yet.

When is The Last Fairytale releasing?

The Last Fairytale does not have an announced release date. The game is in active development with a playable internal build, and release timing will be announced on the official Beer Tech Studios website and developer log when it is set.

Is The Last Fairytale single-player or co-op?

The Last Fairytale supports both single-player and online co-op. Multiplayer is server-authoritative and built on Epic Online Services session management, with hidden contract details deliberately kept off the client so a hunt cannot be datamined out of its own mystery.

What engine is The Last Fairytale built in?

The Last Fairytale is built in Unreal Engine 5, with gameplay systems written primarily in C++ and layered with data assets and blueprints so content can be extended without code changes.

How does monster investigation work in The Last Fairytale?

In The Last Fairytale, players narrow down what they are hunting using alchemical residue traces, a looking glass, a listening horn, tracks, and the state of the sky and moon. Findings are recorded in an in-game notebook, and the party has to commit to an identification before the encounter — naming the creature correctly is what tells you how to fight it.

Does The Last Fairytale have a morality system?

Yes. The Last Fairytale tracks a morality score that moves with mercy and cruelty in how contracts are resolved. That score gates which crafting recipes and goods the town will make and sell to the player, and changes how the town's people speak to the player when they come home.

What do you do in the town in The Last Fairytale?

The town is the progression layer of The Last Fairytale. Between hunts, players spend materials recovered in the field on building plots and upgrades that unlock crafting, storage, trade, a tavern, decoration, and cosmetics. Villagers are generated from archetypes and traits, recruited after missions, and remembered across the campaign.

Can I play The Last Fairytale yet?

The Last Fairytale is not publicly available yet. Players can create a free account on the official Beer Tech Studios website and join the studio Discord to be reachable when playtest invitations go out.

Is there a gameplay trailer for The Last Fairytale?

Beer Tech Studios has not released a public gameplay trailer for The Last Fairytale yet. Development is documented in the studio's developer log in the meantime, and video updates will be shared as milestones are ready for public release.

What makes The Last Fairytale different from other co-op horror games?

The Last Fairytale pairs the investigation loop of a co-op horror game with the persistence of an RPG. Contracts are generated with traits the notice board does not reveal, so the same creature type is never the same job twice; monsters run behavior profiles and pressure kits over StateTree AI rather than one solved pattern; and what a player recovers persists into a town hub that changes what they can craft, buy, and be told on the next contract.
